Helderstroom Alpacas 

We began our alpaca journey in 2004 with five pregnant alpacas imported from South America. Our camelid knowledge then was zero! We now specialise in the hand knitting and hand weaving of pure alpaca fibre processed by us and handspun from our own small herd of alpacas in the Little Karoo. We utilise the 22 natural colours and shades of alpaca as well and we also dye. Alpaca represents one of the finest animal fibres on the planet and in the making our products we create employment and support the local community.
